In our relentless pursuit of excellence, our journey to recreate the legendary Black Beauty Boot began with a single sample based on an old last . Unfortunately, this initial attempt was a slight misfire. While we aimed to replicate the iconic toebox of the original boot, the advancements in materials and techniques since the last creation caused an undesired deviation in its shape.
Refusing to settle for anything less than perfection, we dismantled the sample and carefully sketched the necessary modifications. Through this process, we learned a valuable lesson: instead of reverting to the outdated version, we should design our vision from scratch. This epiphany set us on the right path to crafting the ideal boot.
Our collaboration with the Mexican manufacturing plant has been nothing short of extraordinary. The facility boasts excellent working conditions and a workforce of diligent, friendly individuals who are remarkably receptive to feedback and improvements. Their commitment to quality truly shines through in their craftsmanship.
Throughout this journey, one of our paramount commitments was to maintain the room for wide calves, ensuring that everyone could experience the comfort and style of our iconic boots. Equally important was our determination to replicate the robust, badass toe that has become synonymous with the Black Beauty Boot. These elements are not just features; they are the essence of the boot's character and appeal.
On a dedicated trip to Mexico, we inspected the most recent iteration of the boot. Astonishingly, if we had chosen to go to market with this version, we would have been exceedingly proud. Yet, we pressed on, perfecting every detail until we produced what we can confidently declare as the best product in our company's history.
From conception to final creation, the entire process spanned five meticulous months. As we approach our 75th anniversary, we are thrilled to unveil a boot that not only maintains the room for wide calves and features the ruggedly sophisticated toe we’re known for, but also epitomizes unparalleled quality.

Wohlford & Co footwear is based on UK men’s sizing. This typically means one full size down from your standard North American men’s sneaker size and two and a half sizes for women.
